About the AI literacy for teachers course
Welcome to the AI Literacy for Teachers course! This course is designed for educators at all levels of AI experience, from beginners just starting their AI journey to seasoned practitioners looking to enhance their skills. Ultimately, we created this course to give you clarity and agency to decide what extent AI should impact your teaching and learning in the classroom.
How it works
The AI literacy for teachers course is divided into three levels:
Level 1: Foundational AI literacy for teachers
Level 2: Advanced AI literacy for teachers
Level 3: Flint AI literacy
Each level has a breadth of course materials including:
4-5 lessons with videos and reading materials
Final assessment that tests your knowledge on the level material
Certificate for each level you complete
All of these materials are free and available for any educator who wishes to develop their AI literacy.

Level 1: Foundational AI literacy for teachers
Level 1 of the AI literacy course for teachers covers the foundation you need to understand how AI works and its applications in your classroom. Lessons will cover:
Types of AI and key terminology
Strengths, limitations, and human in the loop
Applications in education and industry
Defining and teaching responsible use
Effective AI communication strategies

Congratulations! If you're here, you most likely have finished Level 1: Foundational AI literacy for teachers and want to get certified (or you just want a sneak peek of what's to come, which is also great).
The Level 1 quiz takes around 20 minutes and consists of multiple-choice questions that test your knowledge on topics covered in Level 1 of the course. Questions range in difficulty, so think critically and carefully read each answer choice.
