About us

Flint is reimagining how students learn with AI. We're building the core teaching and learning platform for K–12 schools — one that delivers personalized learning at scale while making teachers' lives easier, not harder.

We’ve been heads-down for the past two years and now work with 250+ schools across the U.S. and around the world.

We’re backed by Y Combinator (S23) and are a lean, fast-moving team. You’ll join at the ground floor, working directly with the Head of Marketing to craft impactful, inspiring, and creative content that power real classrooms.

Job Description

At Flint, we believe the future of education is personalized and that AI is part of the solution. Schools today are broken because classrooms do not have the resources to make learning tailored to each student. Flint is here to change that, and we need a Editorial Marketer who can make the world feel it.

This is not a passive, behind-the-scenes role. We’re looking for a sharp, witty, and fearless storyteller who thrives on shaping the zeitgeist. Someone who writes with hooks that stop the scroll, makes people question assumptions, and starts the debates that everyone’s talking about by the end of the day. Your job is to put Flint at the center of the AI + education conversation, being the loudest, smartest, and most original voice in the space.

You’ll produce an a large amount of high-impact, high-quality content across mediums: thought leadership articles, opinion pieces, viral social campaigns, reels with addictive hooks, and case studies that resonate deeply with educators. You’ll know when to push the edge, when to spark controversy, and when to pull back just enough to keep it thought-provoking without being reckless.

What you’ll do

  • Establish Flint’s voice as the boldest authority in AI + education, unapologetically championing personalized learning.

  • Write and publish thought leadership that sparks hundreds of comments, questions, and debates, positioning Flint as the top opinion-driver in the space.

  • Create viral short-form video (IG reels, TikTok, LinkedIn video) that 10x–20x Flint’s impressions and expands our share of voice.

  • Translate complex AI and product concepts into clear, human, and opinionated narratives.

  • Be hyper-aware of cultural, educational, and tech trends, jumping on the right moments and owning the conversation.

  • Collaborate with founders, marketing, and product teams to launch bold campaigns, social experiments, and brand stunts.

  • Produce a large volume of content across channels, from hot takes and newsletters to polished case studies and product documentation.

  • Become a recognizable brand evangelist: the voice people remember, the one they look to for the “spicy but smart” take on AI in education.

Who you are

  • A world-class writer with wit, clarity, and the courage to have an opinion.

  • A conversation starter. Your content sparks dialogue, not just likes.

  • Hyper-tuned to the zeitgeist and obsessed with making Flint the first mover in every conversation about AI + education.

  • Strategic enough to see the brand arc, tactical enough to crank out viral posts daily.

  • Comfortable with creative risk, but disciplined about avoiding PR disasters.

  • Someone who doesn’t just join the conversation. You define it.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in creative brand direction, editorial marketing, journalism, or thought leadership

  • Exceptional writing chops: you know how to craft sharp hooks, memorable narratives, and pieces that spark conversation and spread

  • Experience producing or editing multimedia content (short-form video, social campaigns, web, blog)

  • Ability to turn complex research, product concepts, or interviews into bold, human, and persuasive stories

  • Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable generating high volumes of content in a fast-moving environment

  • Curiosity about and ability to quickly master the education + AI landscape

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of creating viral or widely shared campaigns that drove measurable reach/engagement

  • Background in K–12 education, journalism, or edtech

  • Strong video production/editing skills for social platforms (IG reels, TikTok, LinkedIn)

  • Familiarity with design and web tools (Figma, Framer, Adobe suite)

  • Understanding of SEO/GEO and social algorithms to optimize for visibility and discoverability

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Generous equity

  • Health and dental insurance

  • Personal device stipend

  • A front-row seat at an early-stage startup redefining how AI personalizes learning for every student

  • The chance to be the voice that shapes how the world thinks about AI in education

How to Apply

Apply on Dover, where you will be answering the following questions:

  • Imagine you're writing a LinkedIn post about AI in education. Draft the first sentence that will get me hooked.

  • In your opinion, what is the most overrated idea in AI and education right now, and what's the overlooked truth?

  • Share an example of a trend, meme, or cultural moment you think a brand in our space should have jumped on recently. How would you have positioned Flint in that conversation?

  • Provide a link to a writing sample that best exemplifies your voice and talent.

We are not offering internship opportunities at this time.
